a little bit about me :

I am a self taught, natural light photographer with an unquenchable thirst for beauty and all things whimsical, based out of Oskaloosa, Iowa.

My journey into the world of photography, to make a long story short, began shortly after I relocated to Santa Fe from the midwest. It all started with a cheap bridge camera, a love affair with the moon, little bit of loneliness, and a whole lot of magic!

I never wanted to be a photographer. My life was so busy when on a whim I upgraded my camera to a DSLR. Full time waitress. Hospice volunteer. Rather successful home fragrance shop on Etsy. I just thought it’d be neat to have a better camera to take photos of sunsets and the enchanting landscape all around me.

Everything changed when a friend asked me to take some pregnancy announcement photos for her. (thank you Kayla!) I had no clue what I was doing back then, but when I got home to try and edit those images, I found myself entranced by the sheer beauty of the human face. All the emotion in the eyes. The way my friends genuine smile in the candid shots, made ME smile so big my cheeks were sore.

A fire was lit inside my soul that night and to this day it just keeps growing.

I think they call that PASSION.

From that day forward, I have been obsessed with all things photography. I have spent hundreds of hours practicing, watching tutorials, reading, studying, doing free shoots, learning new editing techniques, and…keeping my face buried in my camera.

To say I love photography would be a massive understatement.

I have never dreaded a shoot. It has never felt like work to me. I can find beauty in almost any moment and in EVERY face. I will do everything in my power to make sure when you see your images, you will be able to see the same beauty that I see.

I love posed photos, but I love to capture moments even more. REAL moments. Children playing. A couple kissing when they think I’m not watching. A mother gently brushing her childs hair out of their face. Laughter. Tender moments. The stuff memories are made from.
